McCord GrandOpeningAugust 16, 2012, Glen Cove, NY ... It was standing room only as supporters of the Honorable Richard J. McCord, Glen Cove's Supervising City Court Judge, gathered for the grand opening of the re-election campaign headquarters on Thursday evening, August 16th. With onlookers watching through the open front door as well as from the crowded back room, the chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the Honorable Richard J. McCord, John Chase, welcomed the large audience of Glen Cove citizens, local officials and fellow judges.

Chase remarked upon the Honorable Judge McCord's long history of service to the community, beginning with his role as Deputy Mayor in 1980-1983 and his rise to the bench in 1988. Since then, said Chase, the Honorable Judge McCord has been well-known for bringing a tough but fair hand to justice in Glen Cove. Chairman of the Glen Cove Republican Committee, Paul Meli spoke about the Honorable Judge McCord's dedication to the youth of our community as the founder of the Teen Court program, youth mentor, junior team coach and YMCA leader.

Senator Carl Marcellino also expressed his support of the Honorable Judge McCord, describing the Judge's life-long commitment to every facet of the Glen Cove community as unparallelled.

As his supporters stood to offer their encouragement and applause, the Honorable Judge McCord rose to acknowledge the help of so many dedicated Glen Covers, with a special thanks to his wife, Maryann and daughters, Courtney and Amanda, who sat in the front row.
